beHouse 2015: Maison Cifonelli

What is Cifonelli famous for? Well known for its unique shoulders, a Cifonelli suit is a perfect mix of British structure, Italian softness and the French quality of its finishes.
For the two great-grandchildren of Giuseppe Cifonelli, Massimo and Lorenzo Cifonelli, the most important thing is to understand how people live and it is shown in their curiosity for making contemporary suits.
That is why they are promoting the idea of “contemporary couture”.
They look for a good balance between classic and modern style and are always thinking of new ways to reinvent tailoring.
A bespoke tailor’s founded in Rome in 1880, Cifonelli has been based in Paris since 1926 and is probably the world’s biggest workshop, located at 31 rue Marbeuf – the heart of the “Gold Triangle”.
Massimo and Lorenzo Cifonelli are always travelling to meet their customers – especially in New York, Moscow, Tokyo, London and Geneva.
