Every story that is true and captivating leaves an indelible mark. That of Orologi Calamai features Giosuè Calamai, a fighter pilot with the Italian Air Force whose life was lived challenging speed with curiosity and courage. The force and poetry of his adventure guided his son Francesco towards making his great dream come true: creating unique watches that had a real story to tell and a profound trace of true workmanship. A watch with a pulsating heart.

In 2008 Francesco decided to pursue his two great passions: for flying, which is part of the family DNA and for watches, every pilot’s faithful companion. So he chose a symbol, the legendary F104 starfighter plane, and transformed it into the G50, an extremely unusual watch…one that is ‘alive’. The case is extraordinary, because it is forged by melting steel from the turbine of the General Electric N° ASSY212111013B that equipped an Italian Air Force F104. It is alive because it has a heart: every G50 has travelled faster than the speed of sound.

It is assembled by a single master watchmaker and each component is the result of the work, experience and passion of the people who are part of this project whose aim is to create a unique, handmade machine, born to challenge time and to make those who own it at least as proud as those who created it.
