Once upon a time Arabian nights and flying carpets. Today, there are Flying Chefs that at 10,000 meters in height delight the taste of Turkish Airlines passengers with the delicacies of their national cuisine. From the traditional lentils soup to the famous Şiş kebab (chicken or lamb meat cooked on a spit), from the delicious honey- and-pistachio-based baklava to the homemade Turkish rice pudding. The best Anatolian wines and, at the end of the meal, a spicy smell tea served in refined Samovar design cups that take inspiration from ottoman style.

Thanks to its cooking service, for the third consecutive year the Turkish National Company was named the Best Airline in Europe, the Best Airline Southern Europe and the “Best Business Class Catering” – thanks to the exclusive Flying Chefs-In-Flight Catering service for long haul flights – at the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards that took place in Paris. Top-rank chefs stand over the last preparation phases of dishes in order to offer their guests the taste and the luxury of real high flying restaurant, including candlelit dinners.

The taste is one of the aims of the new Turkish Airlines CIP lounge at Istanbul Atatürk Airport that is one of the biggest and most elegant airports of the world thanks to its 6,000 square meters and two floors. A perfect combination of classic and contemporary design that is a services container and includes real experiences: different showcookings (it depends on the time slot), cinema, billiard room, library, massages, suites with showers, business center with new technologies for video teleconferences, Apple and Sony spaces.

The quality service is what characterizes Turkish Airlines”, says Temel Kotil, CEO of the company, the first company in the world for reached countries and the first in Europe for destinations: 243 – 199 are international, 44 national – in 104 countries. During 2014, with the 16 new routes (Luxor, Asmara, Kraków, Rotterdam, Bos- ton, San Francisco, Caracas and Manila, just to name a few) the served destinations will be 259. This growth of the network will involve also Italy, with two new destinations within the summer, Catania and Pisa, so the cities linked will be 9, with 123 weekly iterations between the Peninsula and the Istanbul international hub: the magic metropolis, that overlooks Bosphorus, strengthens its historical vocation as a bridge, between East and West.
