Prague? Consult the Cinema entry. Casino Royale, Mission Impossible, the multi-awarded Amadeus were all filmed here, between the Barrandov Studios (founded by former president Václav Havel’s father) and an old town centre “full of spells and ghosts”, as Claudio Magris says.

A perfect urban cinematography that, in the last 20 years, turned the Czech capital city, World Heritage Site, into a kind of Hollywood on the banks of the Vltava River. But the location chosen for The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera (which relaunched Prague in social imaginary) is also the city of Kafka and Mozart (the premiere of Don Giovanni took place at J. K. Tyl Theatre), of Golem and the alchemist court gathered around that Rudolf II painted as Vertumnus by Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

This is the city of the Bohemian Baroque charm, of the Prague Secession, as the more than four million travellers know: every year they visit Malá Strana and Staré Město districts surrounded by magic, mysterious and esoteric atmospheres with their tales and legends.
