Edinburgh itself is worth a journey, and looking the agenda and the novelties Scotland is planning for this 2014, tourists will be amazed among beautiful landscapes, traditional festivals and fields full of grazing sheep. For those who love mountains, there are four new routes opened by a group of hikers (Nick Bullock, Greg Boswell, Callum Johnson, Uisdean Hawthorn, Simon Richardson, Guy Robertson, Will Sim and Iain Small) on the Cairngorms, mountain range in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. Nature, in fact, still remains the most charming attraction of this ancient land, made of traditions and mysteries.

In Aira Force, in Aira Beck forest, for example, there is the most ancient “Wish Tree” of the world. Recognisable for the thousands of coins in its long, according to the legend, it brings luck to people who make a wish and insert a coin.
From the traditions, to a “new” Scotland: Homecoming 2014, the big local festival with 400 events all over the Country. The motto, “Scotland Welcomes the World” tells about the events: the “21 years of Celtic Connections”, the “Festival John Muir”, “Whisky Month”, “St. Magnus Festival”, “Bannockburn Live” (June, 28th Commonwealth games (Glasgow, July and August, 2014), the festival of new arts (Edinburgh, August) – just to name some “very Scottish” events. Before leaving, write down a special project called “The Project”: how Elliott Erwitt and Master of Photography by Macallan (in our photo gallery) portray Scotland. And as Scottish people would say, enjoy!
