Nessun Dorma” from Puccini’s Turandot welcomes Krug Symphony No 1, the Krug Musical Experience which the Maison has organised in an exclusive 16th century historic palace in the heart of Milan. A staircase full of light and a banquet hall: this is how Krug decided to celebrate the link between Krug and music. The international harpist, Cecilia Chailly, was chosen by the Maison to create a playlist to pair with Krug Cuvée, while guests tasted the iconic Krug Grande Cuvée, the flagship champagne of the Maison, and savoured dishes by three talented Chefs from the Jeunes Restaurateurs d’Europe, who were asked to interpret the complexity of the blend of Krug Grande Cuvée. Krug creates “bottled music” for one evening and forever, for everyone who downloads the Krug App.

Because champagne and music are similar instruments for savouring the greatest pleasure.
Because notes by special artists help us to experience Krug Champagne in a different way, entering “another” dimension: in a Krug Musical Experience.

This is what happened to us as well, as we savoured the pleasure of music and the art of blending for one night in Milan. The orchestra conductor in Reims is the Chef de Cave, Eric Lebel, whose choices for Krug Grande Cuvée are made by comparing about 400 different wines.

This is not all that makes Kruglyrical”. The Maison has its usual excellence, such as Clos du Mesnil and Clos d’Ambonnay, from one single vineyard and one single vintage; while there are musicians that are great when they are in harmony: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier from different vineyards playing vintage music with vintage Krug champagne.

The choices will be made just like the conductor of an orchestra and the time the bottles spend in the cellars will complete the work”, explained Margareth Henriquez, President and CEO of the Krug Maison.

Everything is now combined in a single symphony to be listened to, savoured and shared on the app.krug.com.
