A necklace for a palace. Everything starts well: it was 1917 when Pierre Cartier bought the residence of a powerful businessman on Fifth Avenue in exchange for a pearl necklace valued a million dollars. A legendary exchange, historically so important for the city that the mayor of New York titled “Place de Cartier”, the corner of Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street, complete with a sign, where the Cartier Mansion, a stately house from the early twentieth century. After years of projects and renovations, now the result is amazing: 4000 square meters, 4 of shop floors (plus a fifth for private events), 35 styles of furniture, chandeliers 30, 110 pieces of antiques, 43 skin types and materials for the walls.

Climb the impressive wooden staircase and you enter in the rooms named after famous people in the history of the Maison Cartier: the Oval Room dedicated to the Princess of Monaco, total white, where you can choose the wedding gift; Elizabeth Taylor room in the creations of fine jewelry; the elegant Sala Andy Warhol with all male iconic Cartier watches. To celebrate this, a big party during Fashion Week in the Big Apple with a lot of celeb parade on the red carpet. A real gem.
