Today bicycles are no longer simply used as a mean of transport for short (and long) distances. They are the symbol of a new, modern era in which man has evolved and appreciates once more the simple things of the past like two wheeled vehicles. Martone appeals to clients who love 21st century style and embrace this way of thinking. Their bicycles are equipped with a red chain which has become their distinguishing mark and a sign of the attention the company pays to fashion and colour. They also have a basket designed ad hoc for each bicycle because, as Lorenzo Martone, a Brasilian who has lived in Paris and then in New York, says, “we always have something to carry, a bag for the gym, the dog, the shopping. From the north to the south of the world, this never changes”.

So, cycles need to be practical as well as beautiful. It is David Thomas, an expert in retail design, who looks after the latter with bicycle frames in lightweight steel and aluminium. Martone wheels are 700 x 32 cm and comfortable on city streets. You can jump on the saddle of these even for longer distance cycle rides.
