The most famous off-road vehicle in the world is leaving the scene, after sixty-five years of production the Land Rover Defender is taking its retirement, but is doing so in style.

In fact, the English car manufacturer has decided to get the designer, Sir Paul Smith, to create this incredibly limited edition – at the moment it could only be one model – of its special four by four. The result is a unique, almost obsessive look for the body, painted twenty-seven different colours reflecting the shades of the English countryside and crowned with the perfect picture of a yellow bee painted on the roof of the car, along with all the many other interior details. These include the leather striped seats which catch the eye with their contrasting blue on black stitching, while the classic series clock has been replaced by a Paul Smith one and the image of a set of keys has been drawn in the glove compartment.

It is an iconic interpretation of the English off-roader, which anticipates the upcoming limited edition models – Autobiography, Heritage and Adventure – to celebrate the Land Rover Defender and its departure from the scene.
