Everything is ready for Pitti Uomo 87 (from 13th to 16th January 2015), the international fair dedicated to menswear and contemporary lifestyle, every year more and more international; for this 2015 true global platform for historical and new brands. The topic? “Walkabout Pitti”, an urban gentleman who loves the outdoors, a casual chic and street-style ready-to-wear inspired by sartorial elegance.

Pitti Uomo 87 wants to be an original journey between fashion, art, sport and design, with record of international attendance (over 40% of the companies of this edition): 30 countries and 1,119 brands. Florence is ready to welcome the international community of male elegance – over 30,000 visitors during last edition – with an agenda full of events and new locations, such as Mercato Centrale Firenze by Umberto Montano and its installation “Flying Carpet” by Daniel Buren.

On January 12th LuisaViaRoma will host the 10th edition of Firenze4ever by presenting the project Oriental Obsession and a charity auction, chaired by Anastacia, whose proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. For January 13th, the official start of Pitti Uomo 87 and, at Four Seasons Hotel, Fashion Frames, the platform organized by Cristina Egger and dedicated to young talents, that this year can count on Interior Design too. La Martina will launch its Capsule Collection FW 15, designed to celebrate the end of the Centennial Polo Tour, Riding Pitti, in the Padiglione della Ghiaia at Fortezza da Basso, the same space that will host Unconventional by Pitti Immagine, in the special location of Archivi, an area dedicated to luxury underground styles, not to mention the Woman previews with Pitti Immagine W and its fashion shows.

January 14th will be the day of BeSpoke events. In the amazing areas of Stefano Bemer maison, it will take place the symposium, BeShoes, held by Simon Crompton about the best international cobblers and the future of ready-to-wear and custom made. In the evening, the exclusive cocktail party “BeSpoke Night in Florence” in Villa Cora: an evening made of taste, style and elegance.

“The time has come, the Walrus said, to talk of many things: of shoes and ships and sealing wax, of cabbages and kings …” (Lewis Carroll) is the event that will be presented at the Galleria ZetaEffe on January 14th, a project born from the combination of fashion and art: the famous Florentine shoe manufacturer Ducal created a shoe Fiorenza Mariotti decorated by turning it into a piece of art.

On January 15th, the winners of Who is on next? 2014 will be among the protagonists of Pitti Italics, a double event dedicated to new Italian fashion designers: at the Dogana (h. 12:00) the presentation of the collection AW 15/16 by Tom Lipop, at Cinema Alfieri, Alberto Design Awards (h. 16:00), both with special performances. At Saloncino della Pergola, the Fondazione Pitti Discovery will launch Cloakroom, a piece created by Olivier Saillard, fashion historian and director of the Palais Galliéra, Museum of Fashion in Paris, together with actress Tilda Swinton.

What people could expect from Pitti Uomo 87? A return to essential lines, tight fitting trousers, soft lines, tight jackets and coats. A more relaxed style where sportswear meets tailoring, in a very sophisticated mix of materials. The new collection of clothes is thought for the outdoors, with a great attention for accessories. Techniques and craftsmanship, luxury and a new dimension of lifestyle.
