Maison Cifonelli at the first edition of BeHouse. What a honour!

Italian origins, a Parisian tailor’s shop and boutique, many partnerships with international luxury brands, stores in the best Asian multibrand shops: this is Cifonelli. A successful story that started in Rome in 1880 with Giuseppe Cifonelli, continued through his son Arturo who moved the paternal company to Paris in 1926, and today it is at the fourth generation lead by Massimo and Lorenzo who developed a tailormade and ready-to-wear collection.

Despite the great staff in Rue Marbeuf and customers coming from all over the world, their grandfather still remains their successful example. Massimo and Lorenzo remember the afternoons spent in his
tailor’s shop: “We have always loved this atmosphere, since we were children” – says Lorenzo who, together with Massimo, proudly carries on the name of the family.

Cifonelli style is a perfect combination of English structure, Italian shapes and French finishings.

Their secret is also their label: the armhole is front tipped in order to give much more freedom of movement; moreover, it is dampened and then taken in with electric iron. A careless eye would think of a roll inside
it; it is indeed just an effect of the making and the ironing.

Lorenzo and Massimo introduced a new way of tailoring: they are young artisans with a modern view of an ancient craft, with 70 manufacturing hours for just one handmade suit. [...]
