On March 9th 2015, during the next Paris Fashion Week, Christie’s France will launch a unique auction dedicated to handmade luxury connoisseurs. The new Handbags and Accessories sale will include 200 exceptional pieces from the best designers in the world, in particular Hermès, bags and accessories never offered to the public before.

We are very excited about this inaugural Paris auction. There are so many pieces in this sale that were originally produced in such limited quantities that they have seldom been offered before, including some that are at such levels of rarity, many believed them to be urban myths. These are the types of pieces that are difficult to value as they are truly priceless to important collectors”, said Matthew Rubinger, Int’l Director of Handbags and Accessories, EMERI & Asia.

Protagonist is the important Hermès Birkin collection sold among the most-wanted bags of the world. The “Bag” par excellence, customisable and custom-made only. During the Christie’s France auction there will be presented the Himalaya Birkin – in size 25 and 30 and the exponentially rarer 35 – in gris éléphant, marron foncé, ficelle alligator, ostrich and lizard Grand Marriage limited editions, unique pieces that show the incredible craftsmanship the brand has by fusing leathers and materials with metallic gold, silver and bronze finishings. Vert Bengale 35, Vert Anis and Vert Chartreuse Birkins, more than a silver brushed ostrich model, are awaited too.

Not only Birkins will be sold at auction: also the iconic Kelly 28 from 1992 and Picnic Kelly 35, more than the rarer Kelly 32, together with Chanel, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent pieces.

Sale: Monday 9th March, 2015 at 11am.
Exhibition: Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th March from 10 am to 6pm.
Christie’s: 9, avenue Matignon, 75008 Paris.
